半百愛慢跑 健康更長壽

 年過半百的人經常慢跑,健康狀況比沒有慢跑習慣者好得多。
【本報綜合報導】想長壽又活得健康,慢跑是好辦法。美國一項長期研究發現,年過半百的人經常慢跑,死亡率低於同年齡但不慢跑者的一半,就算生病,健康狀況也比沒慢跑習慣者好得多。

研究論文發表在「內科學檔案」期刊,論文執筆者查克拉伐提博士指出,定期運動可促進冠狀動脈健康,增強有氧運動能力,增進骨質健康,提高疫苗接種反應,提升思考、學習與記憶功能,各種年齡的人都應該適度甚至大量運動。

史丹福大學醫學院做的這項研究,以美國一個全國性慢跑俱樂部284名年滿50歲的成員為對象,以問卷調查他們的生活習性,包括運動頻率、體重與起身、穿衣服、盥洗、走路、進食、握東西等身體機能,另外調查156名健康但沒有慢跑習慣者作對照組,每年調查一次。

研究人員連續調查19年後發現,慢跑組有一成五成員過世,對照組比率則達34%。慢跑組罹患冠狀動脈心臟病、中風、各種癌症與阿茲海默症等神經疾病的風險也都比對照組低。

慢跑組平均每周慢跑或運動達兩百分鐘,對照組僅廿分鐘。慢跑組雖然大多70歲以後不再跑步,但會換別種方式活動筋骨,運動並未中斷。這項研究還發現慢跑組受傷機率比對照組低,證明擔心受傷而不運動的說法站不住腳。
